Bicoastal/London-based Park Pictures has signed directing team Terri Timely for commercial representation in the U.S., U.K. and select European markets. The duo will continue to be represented by Big Productions in Paris and Soft Citizen in Canada. Their debut production under the Park banner was an ESPN promo featuring Travis Pastrana out of Weiden + Kennedy and they’re currently in production on an upcoming promo for the NFL. Their latest work kidnaps the perfect mother in a polished and darkly humorous new music video, “Cruel,” for indie rockers St. Vincent (below.) The video features the band’s lead songstress, Annie Clark, being forced by a father and his two children to pose as a dutiful wife and mother.
Originally hailing from the Bay Area, Terri Timely consists of filmmakers Ian Kibbey and Corey Creasey. Since meeting in film class at UC Berkeley, the pair has collaborated to build a worldwide reputation through dozens of commercials for MTV, Orangina, Nissan and Amazon, among others, along with blazingly original music video collaborations with notable indie acts like Dawin Deez, Midlake, Joanna Newsom, Laura Viers and The Wrens. Their work is marked by a handmade creativity and tactile, childlike whimsy that has drawn stylistic comparisons to music video luminaries such as Michel Gondry and Mike Mills. New York Magazine’s Culture Vulture blog recently cited the pair as one of its Fourteen Music Video directors to watch.
In addition to commercials and music videos, Terri Timely has produced several shorts. Their most recent work, 2010’s Synesthesia was honored as one of 25 films to be selected for screening at the Guggenheim Museum’s Youtube Biennial in New York.
Notes Park Pictures E.P. Jackie Kelman Bisbee, “Corey and Ian are a finely tuned duo who have created a completely unique style of storytelling. They share a vision for delightfully fresh casting and art direction which always makes their work a pleasure to watch. All of us at Park are thrilled to have Terry Timely join our company.”Notes the filmmakers, “Once we met Jackie and the rest of the team we knew Park was where we wanted to be. We couldn’t be happier to be in the company of so many talented directors. We’re looking forward to the new work we will create at Park.”
