Post Magazine has showcased Alkemy X and Zoic Studios’ industry-leading work in emerging virtual production technology.

One of the most famous methods of virtual production involves the traditional green screen being replaced with an LED screen displaying hyper-realistic visuals. This eliminates the need to edit the green screen in post-production or travel to different locations, thus makes the filmmaking process much more efficient and cost-effective.

Global media company Alkemy X most recently applied virtual production techniques on a new project for T-Mobile for Business. The techniques used allowed Alkemy X to create 10 photorealistic locations for three videos that were all produced on the same stage. Without the use of virtual production, this feat would have been nearly impossible due to the amount of time and money it would have cost to produce and travel. Alkemy X also worked with Jonathan Yi and his team, who collaborated remotely to design the environments using Unreal Engine months prior to the shoot.

Zoic Studios, a VFX company with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, launched its Real Time Group driven by the advancements in real-time filmmaking technologies. Using broad real-time applications to go beyond just LED volume walls, Zoic Studios offers clients creative solutions that allow for more freedom in the VFX process without the massive upfront costs. Unreal Engine recently named Zoic an Authorized Unreal Service Partner which allowed the VFX company to create photoreal space environments for Apple TV+’s “For All Mankind”,  where they were able to work with their VFX creative team in real time to bring a more efficient creative process to the table.
