If you thought that moment from the first trailer for “A Star Is Born” where Lady Gaga bellows the breakdown of “Shallow” was incredible, you’re not alone. That trailer, in particular, helped to lead “A Star Is Born” in nominations at the 20th annual Golden Trailer Awards

The 20th annual awards ceremony, which honors marketing executives and companies that create movie trailers, commercials and posters worldwide, announced the full list of nominees for 2019 on Thursday. In addition to “A Star Is Born,” which scored 12 nominations, “Roma” landed 11 and Jordan Peele’s “Us” had 10 to outpace the competition.

Among the studios, Netflix led the tally of all studios or networks with 66 nominations between their films and series, including “Roma,” “Stranger Things: Season 3” and “Bird Box,” among others. Warner Bros. along with its subsidiaries, HBO and New Line, had 59 nominations, with “A Star Is Born,” “Game of Thrones, Season 8” and “Aquaman” among them. Universal, including Focus Features and Dreamworks Animation, placed third with 45 nominations.

The top trailer houses in this year’s competition included Trailer Park with 32 nominations, Buddha Jones with 27, and AV Squad with a total of 26.

Some of last year’s winners in the major film categories included “Black Panther,” “Lady Bird” and “The Shape of Water.”

“The very first Golden Trailer Awards show was held 20 years ago on Sept. 21, 1999 in New York. Over the years we have had some wonderful hosts, some very special judges, and have been able to honor many great artists who work tirelessly behind the scenes to create the trailers that drive audiences to theaters,” the awards’ executive director Evelyn Watters said in a statement. “For our 20th celebration, we are going all out and we have some very special surprises and special guests planned. More than anything else, we are beyond elated at how this show has grown over the decades and how much a nomination and a trophy means to this community. It is a true validation of the extraordinary creative work that contributes to the success of the best films of the year.”

The 20th annual Golden Trailer Awards will take place on Wednesday, May 29 at The Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Awards are presented 107 categories, with a handful presented as part of the live show.
