Press Kitchen’s clients scored big on the 2014 Super Bowl ad lineup with spots for multiple first-time big game advertisers, a massive hidden camera stunt, an adorable cast of puppies and a bacon-loving grandma.

 

HeLo director Jeff Tremaine (creator/producer/director of jackass) takes an unsuspecting New Yorker out for the “Epic Night” of his life, complete with a style consultation with Mika Kelly, elevator ride with Don Cheadle (and llama), ping pong challenge with Arnold Schwarzenegger and live concert and bash with One Republic. The multi-hidden camera stunt was designed and executed by HeLo, with their team meticulously preparing every detail (actors, locations, lighting, sound) to give Ian a night that he would never forget.

 

Venice, CA-based The Mission visualizes perilous navigation through the muck of the Internet for Squarespace’s first-ever Super Bowl spot in the artfully chaotic :30, “A Better Web Awaits,” produced direct-to-client.  Directed by Anonymous Content’s Malcolm Venville, the :30 delivers an expedition into the hazards and annoyances of web surfing, complete with aggressive pop-ups, offers and advertisements; all in stark contrast to a streamlined web experience through Squarespace.

 

What’s better than a dramatized “Slow Clap” car buying experience complete with celebrity cameos (a-la ‘Rudy’s Sean Astin) for Super Bowl XLVIII? The entire spot done with adorable puppies! Imaginary Forces director Ronnie Koff crafts a shot-for-shot “puppy version” of CarMax’s Super Bowl offering, creating a canine-infused fanfare for the content new owner of a CarMax vehicle. Butter Music and Sound composer Andrew Sherman crafted the track for both the “puppy version” and the “human version”.

 

Saatchi & Saatchi New York teams up with director Matt Smukler and Sonic Union mixer Michael Marinelli to tug at the heartstrings of healthy breakfasters in the sweet :30 “Gracie” for Cheerio’s. The spot marks the cereal brand’s first offering for the Super Bowl, reuniting the much-discussed multiracial family from a recent campaign and features a father using Cheerio’s to explain to his daughter the impending arrival of a new baby brother.

 

Sonic Union Mixer Stephen Rosen teamed up with Droga5 and Smuggler director Ivan Zacharias to tap into carnal instincts to pillage for natural snacks in the surprising :60 “Ransacked” for first time Super Bowl advertiser Chobani. The spot features a hungry bear ransacking a rural convenience store, leaving a massive path of destruction until he finally finds the article of his quest: A Chobani yogurt.

 

Sugar Film Production director Chris Smith soars a sweet granny to nationwide culinary stardom in the charming H-E-B 2014 Super Bowl Spot. The spot features an old woman who daydreams of her path to foodie notoriety by winning H-E-B’s ‘Quest for Texas Best’ with her delectable Bacon Jam selected as the grocery chain’s next Primo Pick. In her reveries, she envisions being stalked for selfies by the likes of Troy Aiken, making headline news, the dedication of a statue of her own likeness, earning a key to the state of Texas and a papa-razzi fanfare upon the landing of her own private jet.
