New York/San Francisco-based content creation/production company Bodega brings on former SF/Montreal based prod-co Moskito directors Joakim Eliasson, Gil Bauwens, and Thorsten Herken as well as former Moskito and current Jetfilms (Montreal) director Pierre Dalpé. This addition comes on the heels of the closing of Moskito’s San Francisco office, where Bodega Partner/EP Clint Goldman formerly held the EP role. Executive Producer Richard Ostiguy continues to run Moskito Canada from the Montreal office.

Says Bodega Executive Producer/Partner Clint Goldman, “It just made good sense to run one bi-coastal company versus two in the USA and now with our robust NYC office we decided to fold key Moskito talent within the Bodega stateside structure.”

Former agency copywriter-turned-director Pierre Dalpé, currently based in Montreal, began directing in 1999 and has worked with such top international agencies as Saatchi (New York), Leo Burnett (Paris), Ogilvy (Toronto), Grey (New York), Draft FCB (New York) and McCann Erickson (San Francisco).

Gil Bauwens

Brussels-born Gil Bauwens has won numerous festival awards for his short films including “Casino and Victor” and “Barber.” He has directed spots for such top brands as Club Med, Renault, Peugeot, Orange, France Telecom, Volkswagen, Packard Bell, Nestle, IKEA, and BMW. In 2005, Bauwens started a collective called Je t’aime studio in which they present a mixture of standard pictures, plastic arts and virtual graphics.

Joakim Eliasson

Joakim Eliasson’s eclectic visual style, compelling performances and award-winning storytelling skills shine through in his work on major campaigns including Stella Artois, McDonalds, Vodaphone, Electrolux, Volkswagen and Fiat. His interactive experience includes directing an SMS spot tackling cyber-bullying and an online experience centered around a short film for Stella Artois. He currently splits his time between Stockholm and NYC and runs his own successful Swedish production company, Film de Liberté. Bremen, Germany-born Thorsten Herken worked as an agency creative director before co-directing his own scripts and eventually shifting to full time directing. He was worked for top international clients including BMW, IKEA, Mercedes, BP, Citroen, THX, among others. Thorsten is partner and co-founder of the creative collective PULK in Berlin that is home to various talents in design, illustration, architecture, music and film. Goldman adds, “We are continuing to look for smart opportunities to expand both our Bodega production and Northern Lights post production rosters as our integrated production approach evolves. We pride ourselves on offering our clients solutions for strong creative filmmaking. With the addition of these four international directors, we can do that better than ever before.”
