KEITH KOPNICKI TO LEAD NORTHERN LIGHTS AFTER FANCLUB CREATIVE ACQUISITION

BY DEVON THOMAS  |  01.17.2017

New York-based PromaxBDA award-winning entertainment agency Northern Lights acquires agency Fanclub Creative, and will incorporate the shop under the Northern Lights banner to create a holistic agency offering.

The combined agency, which will expand upon existing award-winning creative, editorial and finishing services, will be led by senior creative director and writer Keith Kopnicki.

Co-branding and integrated marketing are growth areas that Kopnicki worked on in the agency and network side, both of which he hopes to expand upon after the acquisition.

“I’m now able to take some of my experience and skills in writing and attach it to a larger company with a lot of muscle,” says Kopnicki to PromaxBDA about his role with the combined agency.

“I want to be a trusted resource,” says Kopnicki. “I feel that bringing together our strengths and experiences will allow us to extend their track record of growth, and produce very exciting, effective creative campaigns.”

The combined entertainment company will be strongly positioned to strategize, concept and execute all facets of launches, promo campaigns, sizzles, trailers, upfronts, episodics and co-branded/integrated assignments, while continuing to offer award-winning, stand-alone editorial and finishing services.

When asked where else Northern Lights sees itself expanding Kopnicki mentions three key realms: social media, short form content and co-branded and integrated content work.

“It’s one thing to be part of the major leagues, but it’s another to become a leader,” he says to PromaxBDA when talking about the things he has in store for the future of Northern Lights.

“Keith is an extremely talented creative director and a perfect fit for leading the next step in the evolution of the Northern Lights brand,” said partner David Gioiella in a statement.

Brooklyn resident Kopnicki started his career in 2002 at TNN where he penned the first image campaign for new network Spike TV. He quickly climbed the ranks and began producing and writing major network campaigns, eventually moving on to USA Network, Fuse and A&E, where he served as creative director, before launching Fanclub Creative in 2014. Keith led the creative vision for the agency, crafting work for a wide array of networks and creative aesthetics.
