Cleveland rhymer Ezzy pens a love letter to the streets and chucks the deuces to his past struggles in the uplifting visual for “Goodbye,” a motivational number off the soundtrack to the independent film The Land, executive produced by Nas.

Here, the 19-year-old MC–who also stars in the flick alongside fellow Clevelander Machine Gun Kelly–shares anecdotes about life in “The Land” while spitting uplifting rhymes. “All the rough times, tough times/I remember gettin’ through those,” he says on the hook. “And for my people still here with me/Promise that I’ma make it for y’all.”

“‘Goodbye’ is a love letter to the neighborhood and the struggle,” The Land director Steven Caple Jr. tells Billboard. “It has the classic hip-hop vibe with fresh lyrics. Ezzy wrote the perfect song for the film, we wanted that feel-good energy that lifts people’s spirits. So to be able to direct the video and collaborate with Ezzy and Rafi — who produced the track in a closet of a hotel — was special. As we share it with the world, it becomes an open love letter.”

Ezzy is also hard at work on his upcoming self-titled EP Ezri. Say hello to the “Goodbye” video below. The Land soundtrack is also available on all digital retailers.
