PepsiCo’s Starry Makes a Splash With Keke Palmer and Soda Man
76ers’ Tyrese Maxey shows up, too
What can make the 72nd NBA All-Star game this weekend even more exciting? An all-new lemon-lime libation, according to PepsiCo’s newest commercial, ‘Starry struck.’
The new spot highlights Starry, a lemon-lime flavored soda introduced in January that ‘hits different,‘ according to its tagline.
In the ad, Keke Palmer, known for her starring role in Jordan Peele’s film Nope, sits courtside at an NBA game, next to the new soda‘s animated spokescharacters ‘Lem‘ and ‘Lime.‘
Lem and Lime offer Palmer a can of Starry. When she cracks it open, a man made of soda materializes before her, and a strange but brief love story ensues. The two embraces, until Palmer drinks him up, while Lem and Lime look on in horror and slight regret. Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey also makes a cameo.
The commercial premieres during NBA All-Star Saturday Night on February 18, with additional support on Starry’s social channels.
