New York/Portland, OR-based Search Party Music and directors Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola share the delectable damsel ‘Candy’ between two vying cohorts in the eccentric and witty short fashion film “Prada Candy L’Eau” for Prada. The 3:30 film features the tracks “L’idole” and “Il Est Cinq Heures Paris S’éveille” by French musician Jacques Dutronc and “Le Temps de le Rentrée” by 1960s French pop singer France Gall. The episodic-style short features the progression of the ‘threesome’ relationship, following the French actress/model Lea Séydoux and the duo of competing gents from their relationship’s commencement, to one week in, then to the potential breaking point at the one-month mark.
The short is the first in a series of fashion films created to promote the new Prada Candy fragrance line.

As we flash forward to “One week later,” we find the original couple returning from an evening on the town. Their romantic alone time is cut short, however, when the other meddlesome gent startles them with a freshly baked cake and room full of balloons for a surprise birthday celebration. After a brief squabble between the men, they return to the curiously elated belle dancing with a slice of her beloved double-vanilla-chocolate-almond cake. We cut back to the Prada Candy fragrance bottle then back to the three blithely dancing in the balloon-filled parlor.
As we move forward to “One month later,” we find the lovely lady in a notably more haughty mood, scorning her two lovers to her entourage of beauticians as she is transformed in the salon chair. When she coolly questions, “How much longer can we possibly all be so happy together,” the two gentlemen stoically reply, “Who knows?” and “Does it matter?” When the newly transformed belle approaches the men with their noses buried in their novels, their intrigue returns as they stare at the beautiful renewal. The unlikely trio struts out of the beauty parlor, apparently unprepared to abandon their peculiar situation.
