Backyard director Nick Piper shows painstaking rubber craftsmanship in the muscular new :30 “NASCAR” for Goodyear out of GSD&M, Austin, TX.  The spot pulls the curtain back on Goodyear’s tire makers, visualizing the work dedicated to the demanding rubber-burners of NASCAR and the average citizen alike.  The g-forces captured in-dash and on-course also give a stylish glimpse into the high-m.p.h. world of NASCAR.

“NASCAR” opens on Goodyear’s tire makers’ laser-focus handcrafting rubber racecar ‘shoes.’  A voiceover intones, “At Goodyear, we make tires for the world’s most demanding drivers.  Meticulously crafted to help handle 200 mile per hour turns.”  We see actual lasers, hand carving and the polishing of tires intercut with pulse-quickening NASCAR race footage.  The voiceover continues, “Everything we learn making tires for our most demanding customers inspires what we roll into yours.”  A super appears with racecars thundering past, “Battle Tested,” followed by “Road Ready” as we see an ordinary driver cruise by.  The NASCAR and official tire of NASCAR, Goodyear, logos close out the spot.
