The Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) have released their AICP Show and AICP Next Awards shortlists for the 2017 season. Production, post production and music and sound companies Backyard, Nylon Studios, Park Pictures, Reel FX and Sonic Union shine with outstanding work represented in multiple categories, ranging from PSAs, to virtual reality (VR), to music videos and distinguished branded content.

Backyard Productions’ Mythic Bridge powerful viral PSA “Change the Script: Suicide,” directed by Xander, is shortlisted in the Public Service Announcement category for its jarring perspective on suicide and harm prevention for LGBTQ youth.

 

 

Music and sound house Nylon Studios produced the audio for the famed Love Has No Labels campaign out of the Ad Council in their work “The Love Cam,” a finalist for the Public Service Announcement category and Licensed Soundtrack or Arrangement category.

 

 

Production company Park Pictures director and OK Go frontman Damian Kulash helmed the latest showstopping project for OK Go in a colorfully explosive music video for Morton Salt, called “The One Moment.” The ‘one moment’ earned the company four AICP Show and AICP Next Awards finalist nominations, in the categories Music Video, Production, Viral/Web Film and Branded Content.

 

 

Syncing with the frenzied success of the Lego movies, Chevrolet crafted branded content using the crowd favorite anti-hero “Lego Batman,” animated by integrated studio Reel FX. The spot is shortlisted in the Animation category.

 

 

The company’s VR team collaborated with Shinola and the Wilson brothers, Luke and Andrew Wilson, to produce a 360-degree slapstick tour of the Detroit Shinola factory, which earned finalist recognition in the AICP Next Awards Virtual Reality category.

 

 

Audio post production house Sonic Union lent their sound mixing expertise to the Adidas patchwork spot “Gazelle,” informing its artistic individuality and digital value. The ad is shortlisted in the Design category.
