To coordinate with the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) and Climate Action Day, BETTER–the “climate store” that makes better products for a better planet–launched their latest bold statement with a massive new out-of-home campaign: a 60-foot, hand-painted personal injury lawyer-style billboard on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles painted from November 4th to November 8th and running indefinitely without any set end-date.
Concepted and designed by Spacecraft Earth (the agency behind BETTER) and 72andsunny Group Design Director Mike Farrell, who is also a core BETTER creative collaborator, and created by mural artist Sean Bono using eco-friendly, water-based, non-toxic paint, this mural blurs the lines between street art, satire, and climate activism. Sean Bono is the founder of BONO/Paints, a mural painting company renowned for work with major brands including Nike, Just Egg, NYX, Topo Chico, and many more.
The billboard reimagines typical personal injury ads with a climate twist, boldly addressing the real-life impacts of the climate crisis as if it were a “case”…but we’re the plaintiffs. At its center is a call-to-action hotline, 1-877-365-1816. Dialing the number connects you to a “climate hotline,” filled with cheeky yet informative messages and ironic tips on climate action—delivered in BETTER’s signature style.
