New York/San Francisco-based content creation/production company Bodega has brought on Writer-Director/Creative Director Robbie Norris to deliver his diverse spectrum of creative talents to commercial, co-branded and broadcast promo projects.
Norris comes to Bodega from USA Network’s internal advertising agency, USA Character Brandworks, where he conceived of, wrote and directed co-branded campaigns for the network, integrating such advertisers as Samsung, BMW, Jeep, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Subaru and Turbotax with many top USA Network shows. His work as a writer-director also includes content he created for MTV, as well as the award-winning short films “Abbie Cancelled,” “Highrise,” and “Second Kiss” that played at the Sundance, Lucerne, Raindance, and Hamburg Film Festivals.
Says Norris, “I’ve worked with Bodega as a client for years, and look forward to continuing an exciting and fruitful collaboration, across the commercial and broadcast world, with an exceptionally talented creative team.”
Notes Bodega Director/ECD/Partner Adam Reid, “Bodega is in luck to have Robbie Norris, a true talent who wears multiple hats with ease. His background is a perfect fit with our end-to-end content creation model. He’s also a pretty awesome musician. This gives some street cred that we’re hoping rubs off on the rest of us here!”
A Chicago-native and University of Illinois grad, Norris cut his teeth directing at MTV’s On-Air Promos, where he worked on the VMAs winning several Best of Cable awards for his short arts films and promos featuring the likes of Kanye West, Common and Robin Thicke. His recent work includes a high profile campaign for the launch of the hit USA show “Suits,” and a hugely successful three-part comedy campaign to promote the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone on the USA show “Psych” that created a Twitter sensation, tripling ratings metrics in a brand recall and overall likeability.
