BuzzBallz’s summer soccer campaign stars a washed-up streaker named Steve

A washed-up streaker discovers there’s a new set of “ballz” getting all the attention in the new BuzzBallz campaign.

The ready-to-drink cocktail brand is tying its latest limited-edition lineup to soccer fandom with a fictional former pitch invader named Steve Bell. The “Streaker Steve” spots follow the aging attention seeker as he grapples with the realization that his once-infamous on-field antics have been overshadowed by the brand’s new “SoccerBallz” cocktails.

The campaign rolls out across Meta, TikTok and YouTube through the end of June in six-, 15- and 30-second cuts. The creative was developed by The Shop, Sazerac’s in-house agency, alongside San Francisco agency Erich & Kallman. The ads play up awkward nostalgia as Steve tries to relive his glory days while repeatedly reminding friends and family about his famous “ballz”—only to discover the conversation has moved on.

The accompanying SoccerBallz drinks lineup includes eight soccer-themed flavors inspired by countries expected to draw fan attention during this summer’s World Cup. Among them are watermelon-and-spice flavored Fuego Tamarita inspired by Mexico, melon-forward Smashentina inspired by Argentina, and citrus-heavy Caipi Crush inspired by Brazil. The drinks are packaged in soccer-themed containers and sold nationwide for a limited time.
