This new campaign for Cash App takes a different approach to financial service spots with a slice-of-life, comedic take on investing.
Called Tips [above] the 110-second hero film sits at the centre of the campaign and follows a delivery driver (TikTok creator, Leo Gonzalez) and a restaurant worker as they chat about cutting-edge tech — from AI to self-buttoning shirts. When they tease the chef about their growing wealth, he checks his Cash App and casually proves he’s ahead of the game – and them – with his investments.
In another spot, Wingin’ It [below], an ambitious PA and a delivery driver sit in a truck full of marble busts en route to a photoshoot. As the driver talks about his preference for Spanish marble over Italian, he says, “Sorry to do this, but rushed deliveries cost extra”. The PA pays, knowing that she can cover the unexpected charge with Cash App’s built in overdraft coverage.
“I love getting to make commercial work that feels like a real slice of life — a little window into actual moments with actual people,” said Youssef. “That’s what I loved about working with the Cash App and Anomaly teams on their latest campaign – finding those moments, the humour, the humanity, the details and depth, and bringing them to life.”
