Creative music and sound studio HiFi Project’s teamed up with Arnold Worldwide on a new radio campaign for Progressive featuring crooning Sea Shanty tunes to promote the company’s boat insurance policies. Sea shanties aren’t the only realms where characters fall victim to fickle waters, as demonstrated by the reimagined classics,  “Broken Propeller” and “Ski Boat,” as well as the original composition,  “Lady.”

Among the most famous of shanties “Drunken Sailor” becomes “Broken Propeller,” where an argument ensues between a beleaguered sailor and a chorus of an unhelpful peanut gallery after a boating accident. One “Ski Boat” crash becomes an internet meme, though plenty of video evidence could help the driver with their insurance claim. In “Lady,” a sailor’s fish story plays up a pier crash mishap (though no one’s falling for it).

The campaign marks a continued collaboration between HiFi Project and Arnold Worldwide on their Progressive account, including the “Barbershop Quartet” radio campaign, which earned a Bronze London International Award (LIA) in the “Radio & Audio: Campaign” category, as well as a Radio Mercury Award for Creative Radio Campaign, a Gold Hatch Award, and a One Show shortlist. Additional collaborations include an original composition in the recent campaign featuring their lovable fictional salesperson Flo and Jon Hamm.
