Imaginary Forces (IF) director/creative director Mark Gardner opens the doors to limitless experiences for the launch of Shaw Media’s newest Canadian lifestyle channel, DTOUR. Gardner led a team at IF to create a comprehensive network ID package to entice viewers to tune into DTOUR’s programming and, “See where it takes you.” The ID package envisions the new channel’s mission to bring those with a lifelong passion for new experiences a fresh perspective on the world they think they know. The network launched on August 26th and will feature such programming as rock icon Bret Michaels creating miraculous mobile mansions in Rock My RV with Bret Michaels, a retired combat veteran and his wife test their relationship and survival skills in Get Lost (WT) and Anthony Melchiorri whips hotels back into shape in Hotel Impossible.
Notes Gardner, “We wanted to give the viewers a sense of infinite possibilities. We brought to life the numerous genres of programming offerings to demonstrate the wealth of content available, visualizing the range of places that DTOUR can take you.”

The network’s IDs each feature a wide range of lifestyle imagery including bright tabletop shots of mouth-watering dishes, moving first-person images through outdoor adventures, and scenic sky and landscapes. The images guide the viewer through a fast-paced journey, with horizontal animation shifting quickly through the images to reveal the DTOUR logo. Additional assets created for the network package include: on-air logo design, network idents and bumpers, billboard design, promo packaging, in program bugs and additional assets for off-air promotion.

Adds Shaw Media Creative Director Joseph Nanni, “We came to Imaginary Forces to help us rebrand a chancel under the name DTOUR. The brief was all about that time in your life when you’re ready to see things from a new perspective, a different take on the world you think you know. The IF team really had a firm grasp on the concept and what we were looking to do with the IDs from the get-go. Their understanding really made the creative design more compelling as well as serving to visually elevate our overall strategy.”
