ESPN Fantasy Football went down the route of a parodied, sit-com commercial for their newest spot, “It’s Fantasy Bonding Time!” BUTTER Music + Sound created the perfect musical track to match the comedic spot, giving that nostalgic feel that sitcoms carry while also adding the occasional joke. Think warm, familiar chords paired with playful accents. It’s the kind of score that instantly transports you to your living room couch with trays of TV dinners and laugh tracks in the background.
The challenge with a parody spot like this is walking the line between homage and comedy. BUTTER leaned into the classic sitcom scoring cues, from the cheery main theme to the musical stingers that punctuate each joke. They were able to collaborate with some longtime friends, which made the process even more fun. It’s clear as day that they loved working on this project!
