Venice, CA-based The Mission enrobes LeBron James as adjudicator of streetball court etiquette in the new integrated campaign “Streetball Court with Judge James” out of Wieden+Kennedy, Portland, OR. A microsite leads visitors in with a :30 video introducing the authoritative Judge James and his overly fierce bailiff—played by Isiah Whitlock Jr. of The Wire fame—and meek, yet silently sassy stenographer. The site also includes 10 additional videos outlining some of the individual laws of streetcourt, including one outlawing the donning of the chilling fashion phenomena of cutoff denim known as “jorts” and a law fully approving of a talent-heavy, “stacked” team. The Mission handled design, graphics, cleanup, secondary color and final mastering on the entire campaign.
The integrated campaign encourages visitors to submit their own streetcourt law amendments through Twitter by using the #playsmarter hashtag.
