Bloodline’ to Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival


Bloodline – written and directed by actress, director, and writer Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and produced by actor Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin, The Batman) – has announced its worldwide premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of the Short Cuts 2026 Programme. The 19-minute film will debut on September 14th, 2026 at 11:30 AM local time.
With sound design by Geoff Strasser and David Wolfe out of Mr. Bronx, and re-record sound mix by Geoff, the film roots itself in the historic systemic erasure and oppression of Chinese-American communities. Bloodline follows two siblings – Ruby Chan, played by Michelle Mao (Bridgerton), and Peter Chan, played by Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends) – in 1952 Utah as they embark on a mission to find their family treasure.
