The advertising industry’s most acclaimed production and marketing companies flooded the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NYC on June 6th and 7th, 2017 to celebrate the annual AICP Awards, the culmination of AICP Week. AICP Show and AICP Next Awards were administered to the highest honored production, post and advertising companies for their outstanding work over the 2016-17 year.
Bicoastal/London production company Park Pictures and Venice, California house Saville Productions both received one honor during the AICP Show for their respective branded content successes. Park Pictures and director Damian Kulash won in the Production category for their work on Morton Salt and OK Go’s latest groundbreaking video “The One Moment.” Saville Productions’ and founder Rupert Maconick won in the Next Branded Content Division for the NETSCOUT Sundance-presented documentary Lo and Behold.
The OK Go “The One Moment” music video explores the slow-motion rendition of a sequence filmed in 4.2 seconds. Seven cameras powered by high-speed robotic arms capture 318 events, including colored salt bursts, exploding paint buckets, gold water balloons, watermelons, spray paint cans, and Fender acoustic guitars. The music video was commissioned by Morton Salt as part of Walk Her Walk, a campaign to support a group of people who are bravely making a positive difference in the world.
Lo and Behold –an award-winning feature film–explores both sides of the Internet divide–from the inventors and dependents who rely on the web daily, to the suspicious and wary seeking a respite from wireless signals or the “evils” the net may bring. Lo And Behold begins in 1969 on the campus of UCLA—the “birthplace of the Internet”—where a professor shows us the first computer to communicate with another computer. A series of vignettes follow as Oscar-nominated director Werner Herzog explores a wide variety of internet-spurred phenomena, from self-driving cars to a rehab clinic for gaming addicts. Premiering at 2016 Sundance Film Festival, making the international rounds of the festival circuit and being picked up and distributed by Magnolia Pictures, the NETSCOUT documentary raised awareness for the web services company worldwide.
