Taco Bell earned a Silver Clio Music Award for “Mexican Pizza: The Musical” at the Clio Music Awards, which included work by BUTTER Music and Sound.
The CLIO Awards is an annual ceremony celebrating innovation and excellence in communications, design and advertising. However, the honorees fall into a wide variety of fields, including fashion, music production, social media and sound/audio design.
One campaign that received two Silver Clio Award wins in 2023 was BUTTER Music+Sounds’ “Return of the Mexican Pizza” campaign. This campaign was initially sparked by the outrage of Taco Bell’s loyal fans regarding the removal of “Mexcian Pizza” as a menu item. One of these outraged fans was none other than singer/internet sensation Doja Cat, who used her platform to express her dissatisfaction with Taco Bell’s removal of the menu item.
This led to Taco Bell’s social media and commercial partnership with Doja Cat, including a Super Bowl Ad and her cameo in the ad “Mexican Pizza: The Musical”.
