Culver City/Vancouver-based visual effects house Zoic Studios crafts emotional magic for Los Angeles, CA-based band Hot As Sun, in their newest video offering for their dreamy single “When We Fell,” that premiered yesterday. Cut by Zoic Senior Editor, Dmitri Gueer, the music video stars Shameless actors Jeremy Allen White and Emma Greenwell and delivers a bittersweet reminiscence of the blissful moments of a romance that is ripping at the seams.

Zoic was brought on board to handle comprehensive post production to enhance the stunning imagery and deliver an emotional fluidity to the cut of the vignettes in the video. Notes Gueer, “It was a fun challenge to blend together an amazing song, beautiful cinematography and great actors and bring some visual poetry and style to the video. Through creative input and collaboration with the band and professional expertise from our Zoic producers and artists, I believe we were able to bring to life a unique work of art that should resonate with people on a deeply emotional level.”
The video features a variety of dreamlike vignettes spliced together to show the back and forth that often happens in a romantic relationship– from the fun discovery phase of a relationship, listening to records, dancing, and playing with each other, to the fading moments with bleak silence, frustration, and uncertainty.
Hot As Sun is comprised of Jamie Jackson, singer, songwriter ,and composer, Deborah Stoll, lyricist, and visual artist, and WAZ, songwriter, and guitarist. With a unique sound complete with rich literary themes and reverb-laden instrumentation, Hot As Sun has garnered a particularly large amount of momentum as they headed into the recent release of their first full length LP, “Night Time Sound Desire,” through Last Gang Records. Their first EP (Hot As Sun EP) won them placements in the Sundance premiere film, For A Good Time Call, as well as the lead-in song for this year’s season premiere of CSI Miami.
