Los Angeles-based Boxer Films director Kevin Fitzgerald makes bold romantic moves in the comical and spirited new :60 “Love Story” for Engen & Wimpy out of Draft FCB, South Africa.  Produced for the South African market by Cape Town-based Egg Films, the spot features a young man’s exuberant dance display, all in an effort to catch a pretty girl’s eye.

“Love Story” opens on the man routinely filling up his car with gas when he notices an alluring young woman enjoying a milkshake in the Engen & Wimpy diner.  Instantly smitten, the man proceeds to blast George Harrison’s famed “Got My Mind Set On You” from his car speakers and dances with reckless abandon.  Initially the woman is surprised, if not put-off, but the man’s sustained, heartfelt dance display seems to win her over.  At least that’s what the man thinks until the woman disappears.  Defeated, he’s about to leave, when the woman returns with an extra straw to share her milkshake.  The man grins: romance from a bygone era.

With spot-on casting and artfully captured, wordless emotion, Fitzgerald managed to create the romantic beginnings of a storybook love affair.
