Los Angeles-based Boxer Films expands their roster of award-winning talent with the addition of director Kevin Fitzgerald.  Fitzgerald comes to Boxer from Rabbit where he refined his highly visual storytelling in work for such top brands as Lexus, Samsung and many others.  Beginning his career as a fashion photographer, Fitzgerald has transitioned his keen eye for beauty in storytelling for top commercial projects out of agencies including Venables Bell & Partners, DraftFCB, Mullen, Leo Burnett and Grey Worldwide.

Notes Boxer Executive Producer Beth George, “We are honored to have Kevin join our roster.  His ability to blend authentic performances with beautiful photography is very unusual.  Somehow he finds the perfect moment and then frames it a lot better than the natural eye would, and yet it feels like we are looking through our own eyes.  His background in high-end still photography was the perfect preparation.”  Adds Fitzgerald, “I’m very excited to come on board with Boxer.  They stand by each and every director on their roster and the quality of work is impressive.”

Fitzgerald’s international representation includes Egg Films in South Africa and other regions, Salt in Germany, (h) Films in Italy and Carnibird in France.  Upcoming work for Fitzgerald includes a project for KFC out of Ogilvy Johannesburg.

South African-born Fitzgerald made the inadvertent transition from photography to cinematography when he was offered a job shooting retail ads for German television while working on a photography shoot in 1999. After spending two years shooting around Europe, Fitzgerald settled down to direct a spot for Egg Films, where he has worked with high-end brands such as Lexus, BMW, Amstel and Mercedes.  Fitzgerald has won several Loerie awards and a World Gold at the New York Advertising Festival for his work.  His BMW M3 Test Pilot spot won for best cinematography at the 2008 London International Awards.

Says Fitzgerald, “Human emotions interest me – finding the cues that make us feel, trust and believe in something that we know is make-believe. I try to find the realness in things, allowing the beauty in people to come through. I like to strip away the hype.”
