Moxie Pictures president and KillerMoxie Management partner Dan Levinson engages high-profile guests in casual but thoughtful conversation on prevalent topics as well as off-the-cuff personal anecdotes in his audio podcast, “Moxie Radio,” launching this week on iTunes. “I’ve met a lot of people in the worlds of TV, film, digital content and advertising, allowing me to bring listeners the most engaging thinkers and filmmakers in media,” says Levinson. Subscribers access the bi-monthly podcast gratis on iTunes.

Moxie Radio’s debut episode features Moxie directors Henry Joost and Rel Schulman, aka Henry & Rel, directors of indie hit Catfish. After premiering to raves at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the documentary garnered huge buzz with its depiction of a stranger-than-fiction Facebook relationship and its exploration of the nature of identity in the Internet age. The second “Moxie Radio” podcast features pioneering independent film producer and Killer Films founder, Christine Vachon (Boys Don’t Cry, Far From Heaven, KIDS). Vachon recently produced the highly anticipated HBO miniseries, Mildred Pierce, starring Kate Winslet, Melissa Leo and Guy Pearce.

For Levinson, podcast is the ideal medium to capture the amusing and revealing conversations that often arise while working closely with some of the leading creative thinkers in media. “Everybody blogs,” notes Levinson. “But I’m fortunate in that many of the people we work with become friends. With Moxie Radio, I can share the untold stories and funny discussions I have with creative people every day without adding to the already-cluttered blogosphere.”

Along with founding Moxie Pictures in 1992 and building it into one of the industry’s top commercial production companies, Duke graduate Levinson directs commercials across the globe for many of the world’s leading brands. Levinson’s notable non-spot work includes Uneven Fairways, a documentary film produced by Moxie Pictures and airing on The Golf Channel, concerning the African American golf experience. Most recently, Levinson directed the critically acclaimed web series Business Unusual for Time Warner and Cadillac.
