The Metropolitan Opera has rolled out their stunning 2016/17 season campaign Metropolitan Opera “The Voice Must Be Heard” starring Ailyn Pérez, with sound editing and mixing by Northern Lights and SuperExploder, respectively. The :30 clip features Pérez entering an empty rehearsal sound stage, where she sings a sampling as if she were performing for an audience of thousands. The raw emotion on her face expresses what the Met promotes and has always believed: that for the true experience, “the voice must be heard.” Sound mixing was accomplished by Brady Hearn of SuperExploder.

Pérez will star in La bohéme, running September 28-October 14 2016 and January 6-14 2017, as evidenced by her stellar rendition of a selection from aria Addio…D’onde Lieta Usci in the piece.

According to the Met Opera, the upcoming season, “the 50th anniversary of its home at Lincoln Center, will feature 225 opera performances of 26 operas in a varied repertory that ranges from 18th-century masterpieces to one of the most acclaimed operas in recent years.
