Bi-Costal (NY/LA) editorial house Northern Lights has promoted Jacob Condon to editor.  Condon’s story-driven editorial style can be seen in work for top networks including Discovery, TruTV, TBS, Lifetime, Cloo and A&E.  He has been with Northern Lights since coming on board as an assistant in 2006, and has steadily worked his way up to editor, cutting a range of broadcast promo projects as well as advertising and branded content assignments for top brands such as Lancome and Western Union.  Condon’s creative, detail-oriented and collaborative approach has brought him numerous repeat clients for projects in broadcast and digital content alike.

Notes Northern Lights Executive Producer Robin Hall, “Great editing is a combination of art and craft. Jake is blessed with a natural creative talent and he has worked incredibly hard at honing his craft. His promotion is well-deserved.”

Adds Condon, “It’s great to be a part of this community of artists who have performed above and beyond the standard.  Northern Lights fosters creativity and lets people bring aspects of who they are and what they do to the table.”

NYC native Condon began honing his editorial skills from a young age, harnessing his fascination with motion pictures to edit projects in high school on early versions of Final Cut Pro.  After graduating from Kalamazoo College in 2005, he landed his first professional gig at Northern Lights as an assistant.  In 2007, he became an Assistant Editor and delved into online editing on several History Channel documentaries.  Employing skills and knowledge learned while studying literature in college, he added copywriter to his workplace arsenal and began writing and editing promos for top networks such as VH1, TBS and Nickelodeon.  Since then, he has worked on a wide range of broadcast promo pieces for numerous top networks, ranging from co-branded spots to both suspenseful and comedy-driven series promos.

“Jacob’s editorial sensibility is second nature, he’s always had it. Jacob brings something innate and exciting to every project.” says Northern Lights editor/partner/creative director David Gioiella.

In addition to editing, Condon pursues his own creative projects and is currently writing, directing and editing the documentary, “To Do Justly,” which chronicles the life and times of civil rights activist Henry Schwarzschild.
