Bicoastal/London-based Park Pictures’ director Lance Acord brings the drama of the professional arena to the streets in a new 1:30 “Spotlight” for Nike out of Wieden + Kennedy, Portland, OR.  Part of a larger “Basketball Never Stops” campaign, the spot features multiple NBA stars such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant, as well as non-pro players and even entertainers like J. Cole, illuminated by spotlights in darkened courts across the globe.  The campaign also has a dedicated Facebook page where fans can submit and tag content that demonstrates how basketball never stops in their lives.

The spot opens on an empty NBA arena before transitioning to a foggy street court illuminated by a shaft of light.  The spotlight tracks a lone player, driving to the basket, then to another night game in progress.  Next we see LeBron James making his way through a crowd of fans at the Tournament of Champions in Shanghai.  The spotlight then appears on a train in Harlem and the Brooklyn Bridge.  High school, neighborhood and college games appear with the light beaming through underpasses and school buses.  LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Amar’e Stoudemire, Dirk Nowitzki, Sue Bird, Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski and entertainer J. Cole are some of the individuals featured on court and off.  The spot closes on the super “Basketball Never Stops” and the Nike logo.
