God’s Pocket stars Hoffman as Mickey, a man who is caught up in the tumultuous aftermath of his son’s accidental death. Named after the blue-collar neighborhood of South Philly featured in the movie, the film received critical accolades, including positive reviews from publications such as Vanity Fair, Paste and the New York Post. “Slattery shows real promise as a director, guiding his actors with ease and effectively evoking a very specific time and place,” raved Flavorwire. The Wall Street journal called the film, “a Mad Men reunion.”

The feature is the first directed by John Slattery, who is known for his work as an actor in BeckerWill and GraceEdArrested Development, and Mad Men, and has directed several episodes of the latter.
