Reel FX Creative Studios (www.reelfx.com) announces the 2nd annual A CANVAS FOR A CAUSE, its dual-studio charity art initiative that combines exclusive art from local artists, affordable participation and two worthy causes. A CANVAS FOR A CAUSE will take place at Radium/Reel FX’s Santa Monica studio on APRIL 1ST, with proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross. The Dallas event will happen concurrently in the studio’s Deep Ellum digs, and again benefit Children’s Medical Center, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Children’s Child Life Program. Last year’s events exceeded expectations, selling 98% of the art offered, and this year’s events will feature more art and more artists. New this year, A CANVAS FOR A CAUSE will also add a silent auction of select paintings and photography. Both events will be held Thursday, April 1, from 7pm – 10 pm.

Where: The Gallery at Reel FX, 2115 Colorado Ave., Santa Monica, Calif. 90404, 310.264.6440
The Gallery at Reel FX, 301 N. Crowdus St., Dallas, Texas 75226, 214.979.0961
URL: www.reelfx.com
Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
A donation of $10 is requested for admission to the show.

All art will be priced at an affordable $60. The canvases offered for sale are the work of Reel FX studio artists/employees, as well as special guest artists consisting of local and national artists. Each participant was given a blank 10” x 10” canvas purchased at Aaron Brothers through a generous donation from Michaels Stores, Inc., North America’s largest arts and crafts specialty retailer. Participants were allowed to transform the canvases in any style or medium. The studio encouraged everyone to think “outside the canvas” and branch out from traditional mediums.

“Reel FX Creative Studios continuously strives to merge our cause-related endeavors with the art that is a part of our daily lives. We are excited to host the 2nd annual A CANVAS FOR A CAUSE and look forward to making significant donations to Children’s Medical Center and the American Red Cross. We thank everyone, especially Michaels, for making this event possible,” comments Katherine Harper, Marketing Director of Reel FX Creative Studios.

Reel FX thanks its staff and guest artists for agreeing to sell their work exclusively for the event at such an amazing price. If the patron chooses to buy a piece of art, he or she will only have to pay the $50 difference between the entry fee and the price of the piece. All pieces are available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis, so Reel FX encourages attendees to get there early! To add to the fun, all the pieces will be unmarked until they are purchased. To keep the focus on the art, rather than the participants, staff will reveal to the buyer who created his or her piece at the time of purchase.
