LA-based Robot Films director Chris Robinson scores big with suave moves in the new :30, “Download the Kiss,” for AT&T out of SandersWingo, Austin, TX. The spot stars NBA star Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers casually shooting hoops with some friends at a gym. When his friends challenge his skills after an underwhelming shot, Griffin steps up his game, effortlessly making an elaborate slam dunk, rewarding himself with a virtual kiss via his AT&T cell phone.

No stranger to eliciting stellar performances from high-profile athletes, Robinson felt no pressure when given a 4-hour time window to shoot before the 22 year old forward left for his game in Toronto, Canada. Says Robinson, “Blake is no stranger to being on camera in the sports arena, but is relatively new to the film, TV and commercial world. Nonetheless, he was a true natural once on set. He’s got an easy charisma and confidence that I think comes across well on the screen and was a pleasure to work with.”

“Download the kiss” opens with a shot of Clippers star Blake Griffin making a dunk shot to an openly unimpressed group of friends in a gym. As his peers mock his lack of style, calling, “What else you got,” Griffin heads back and grabs another ball and his cell phone. A smug look comes across his face as he quickly inputs something into his phone and heads towards the basket. He effortlessly bounces the ball off the backboard, immediately palming it and sending it back up for a triumphant slam-dunk. He lands to a cheering group of fans and a recently downloaded video on his phone.

He adds a final element of style to his moves by placing his phone next to his face, revealing a beautiful woman planting a kiss on his cheek via an online video. His formerly critical group stands in awe as a voiceover begins, “In the network, perfect endings download faster. AT&T is getting faster with 4G.” The spot closes with the AT&T logo accompanied by the voiceover, “AT&T: Rethink Possible.”
