Online voter education tool SeePolitical, which explains the confusing language of each California ballot proposition with engaging, unbiased videos, has partnered with the trusted, nonpartisan League of Women Voters of California Education Fund to inspire Californians to vote in the upcoming November 4 General Election. The partnership hopes to empower Californians to make confident decisions on Election Day about ballot measures that impact their communities and future. This partnership will add to already-existing partnerships with Emmy Award-winning creative studio Imaginary Forces and Guru Media Solutions.

Several times a year Californians are asked to vote on major public policy issues that have impacts that last for decades. Expecting voters to spend hours reading through complex legalese or depend on biased campaigns to make an informed decision is unrealistic and ineffective. SeePolitical helps voters easily understand what a “Yes” vote means and what a “No” vote means for each ballot prop. SeePolitical and the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund doesn’t tell voters how to vote, they break down the information into plain English and Spanish to help voters make their own decisions. These videos will be available on YouTube and will be easy to share via social media.

“We are excited to partner with SeePolitical on these innovative ballot measure videos to ensure that Californians have simple, nonpartisan resources to engage them in the November 4 election,” LWVCEF President Helen Hutchinson said. “The League remains steadfast in our commitment to try new ways to encourage participation in civic life,” she added.

“The League has been the gold-standard for unbiased political information for decades. It is an honor to work with such an esteemed civic organization,” said Nate Kaplan, SeePolitical’s founder. “I’ve been reading their voter guides since I was old enough to vote. Our partnership is exciting and represents a true evolution of the political education process.”

SeePolitical and the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund team of experienced public policy analysts researches and reviews each ballot proposition to translate the info into an easy to understand format, and ensures it is unbiased. Next, scripts are written and informative videos are produced explaining the meaning of each ballot prop under two minutes. Voters can visit the SeePolitical site to watch engaging videos on the web or from any mobile device, and save their voting preferences on SeePolitical’s mobile app, which can be used for personal reference on Election Day.
