NY-based Sonic Union mixers Michael Marinelli and Rob McIver, along with Smuggler, Bicoastal/London director Renny Maslow, bring fantasies to life in the comical new :30, “Magic Jingle Anniversary,” for State Farm Insurance out of Translation, NY. The spot features a bickering couple in the aftermath of a fender-bender, who calls upon the State Farm jingle to solve both their car and relationship woes.

“Magic Jingle Anniversary” opens on a woman nagging her boyfriend who just rear-ended a parked car, “I told you you were too close, but nobody ever listens to me… I mean who does that? Backs a car into another car?” After silently accepting his girlfriend’s verbal barrage, the man sings out the iconic jingle, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there,” and a friendly insurance agent spontaneously appears between the couple, immediately assessing the new claim. The “magic jingle” continues to produce as the woman wishes for a new boyfriend and receives a transformed taller, shirtless man with an impressive physique. Her satisfaction is short-lived as her boyfriend wishes similar changes upon her, and after reviewing her more curvaceous and scantily clad self, nags him again. The State Farm agent looks on in disbelief, wisely avoiding a romantic intervention.

A voiceover accompanied by the State Farm logo concludes, “State Farm agents are there when you need them.” The campaign includes three additional spots that will air in the coming months.
