Culver City/Vancouver, B.C.-based visual effects house Zoic Studios receives a VFX Emmy® nomination, with a nod for “Outstanding Special and Visual Effects” for CW’s new sci-fi series “The 100.” Zoic Studios Executive Creative Director and Co-Founder Andrew Orloff serves as Digital Effects Supervisor and Michael Cliett serves as Visual Effects Supervisor on the series. The visual effects are created by Zoic Studios in L.A. and B.C. Additionally, Zoic Studios’ Steve Melchiorre and Michael Cliett were nominated for their roles as VFX Producer and VFX Lead, respectively, on the new FOX sci-fi/crime drama series “Almost Human.”

To create the post-apocalyptic Earth in CW’s “The 100,” Zoic VFX Supervisor Michael Cliett led a team to craft a wide range of menacing creatures including a two-headed deer, a mutant panther and radioactive butterflies. The team also created numerous epic shots of the “Ark” space station floating around Earth.
